A man gets hit by the bus. When he wakes up he discovers that no one remembers the most popular band of all time: The Beatles. And that man is a talented, yet unsuccessful musician.
I certainly know what I’d do.
Surprisingly lax on Beatles songs played all the way through, Yesterday is a delightful film. The kind of crowd pleasing pulp that your parents will love. Although the story strays into the unbelievable, the crowning theme of the film is that the world is better with the music of the Beatles. Something I’m sure most of us agree on.
Yesterday resist the temptation to send everything back to normal, which is a nice switch on the genre. If I had to see it again, I would hope for longer takes on Beatles songs and twenty minutes off the run time.
