Everything that everyone is saying is true. Long Shot is super funny, surprisingly emotionally prescient, and very cutting politically. Like Neighbors, the emotional depth combined with dick jokes is very well done.
Only issue I had was a weird exchange where Seth Rogen’s best friend was a republican for like, no reason. One, if you don’t know where your friends are politically, are they really your friends? It’s usually obvious. And he’s the most cliche black republican I’ve ever seen. How do you not know your best friend is Christian? Cheap writing to get Seth Rogen to see the “other side” and ultimately come around to his growing relationship.
Otherwise, this is a great movie.
