Avery: Real Peel IPA

This guy is a seasonal so it might be hard to get outside of Colorado. Not sure about Avery’s distribution network.

Real Peel is an IPA with tangerine peel added to the boil. It’s got a light color, barely darkened by the malt. Lots of tangerine scent on the nose and can develop a big head that takes a bit to dissipate. The taste isn’t as tangerine-y as you might expect from the nose. But it drinks really easy. It’s actually got a little bitterness to it, which makes sense because it is an IPA. It’s definitely crushable but there are better fruit IPAs out there, but this brew has a mass appeal flavor to it.

2 1/2 out of 4 stars. Would bring to a barbecue.
