Boy, do I love a good red ale done right. Because it is very hard to do it right.
Lucky 13 pours with very little head. A decent reddish tint is visible throughout. The smell is a mixture of malty, piney, and citrusy – a real balance. The taste is pretty unique. Starts like an IPA, finishes with that caramel sweetness so present in most red ales. It definitely starts strong and finishes strong. Because its 8.8%
